Ingredients
- 1 baguette, sliced
- 2 cups mushrooms, sliced
- 1 shallot, chopped
- 2 Tbsp butter
- ½ cup sweet red wine (Commandaria)
- 1 jar Mitsides Alfredo sauce
- 1 Tbsp cream cheese
- 3 sprigs of fresh thyme, finely chopped
- Salt and pepper
Method
Preheat the oven to 180°C.
In a frying pan heat the butter. Once melted add the shallots and mushrooms. Add salt and pepper. Cook for 5-6 minutes until softened and almost all liquids have evaporated. Add the Commandaria and let it evaporate. Add the Alfredo sauce, cream cheese and thyme.
Brush the bread with olive oil and bake in the oven until golden and crispy. Top with the mushroom sauce and add more pepper if you like.
