Ingredients
- 6 Tbsp Mitsides All-purpose Flour
- 1 tsp baking powder
- ½ cup maple syrup
- 2 tsp vanilla extract
- 4 Tbsp almond or oat milk
- ½ tsp salt
- ¾ cup dark chocolate chips
- ¾ cup almond butter (preferably homemade*)
- some dark chocolate chips for sprinkling
Method
Preheat oven to 170°C.
In a small pot add the maple syrup, vanilla, milk and salt. Bring to a boil and add the chocolate chips. Take off the heat and stir until chocolate is melted. Add the almond butter and mix well until butter completely melts and you get a smooth mixture.
Add the flour and baking powder and continue to mix until all is well mixed.
Transfer to a small brownie tin and top with extra chocolate chips.
Bake in the preheated oven for 20 mins. Remove from oven and let it cool completely before carefully cutting in squares.
* To make almond butter, take 2 cups of raw almonds, blend in a food processor at high speed for about 6 minutes until the mixture resembles a slightly watery paste. Scrape the sides of the blender bowl, blend again for 2 more minutes and your almond butter is ready!
