Ingredients
- 1 pack Mitsides Orzo (500g)
- 1 pack Mitsides Passata (500g)
- 2 cubes Mitsides Chicken Bouillon, dissolved in 2 ltr boiling water
- 500g beef for stew, cut in small cubes
- 100g butter
- 2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 onion, chopped
- 1 garlic clove, chopped
- 1 Tbsp cinnamon powder
- 1 Tbsp Mitsides Vegetable Powder
- 1 tsp honey or maple syrup
- Grated halloumi cheese for serving
- Salt and pepper
Method
In large pot, melt half the butter and 1 Tbsp olive oil. Add the orzo and toast until it turns golden. Remove the orzo from the pan and add the beef. Sear all sides so that it browns, remove from the pan and set aside. Add the remaining butter and oil. Add the onion and garlic. Once softened add the passata, cinnamon powder, vegetable powder, honey, salt and pepper. Add the chicken stock and meat and simmer with the lid on, on low heat for 40 minutes. Add the orzo and some more boiling water if required. Cook for 15 minutes until most liquids have been absorbed and orzo is cooked through. Add some grated halloumi and serve!
