Ingredients
- 4 english sausages, sliced
- 2 slices lountza*, cut in squares
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 1 garlic clove, minced
- 1 carrot, finely chopped
- 1 zucchini, finely chopped
- 1 cup Mitsides Fine Lentils, rinsed with water
- 3 cups boiling water
- 1 cube Mitsides Chicken Bouillon
- 3 packs Mitsides Tomato Paste (3 X 70g)
- 2 Tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 1 tsp Mitsides Vegetable Powder
- 1 tsp paprika (sweet)
- 1 tsp smoked paprika
- A pinch of mixed herbs
- Salt and pepper
- 1 Tbsp olive oil
*smoked pork fillet
Method
Heat the olive oil in a large casserole and add the onion, garlic and lountza. Add the sausage and sauté until browned. Add the carrot and zucchini and fry for a further few min utes. Dissolve the chicken cube in the boiling water and add to the casserole. Add all remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Season with salt and pepper, cover and simmer on low heat for about 40 minutes or until lentils are well cooked. You may add some more water if necessary.
